Holograph is not new where they use it in bars featuring bar top dancing virtual girls, but it’s advancing to the business arena where it is used for video-conferencing and even virtual team working. Cisco and Musion Systems blazed the trail in this aspect by calling for virtual teams to create and be hired to work virtually. It sounds pretty cool indeed, with a large sign-up bonus offered. With this technology, it is not impossible to have a more personal interaction with people separated by distance. It is possible to have virtual interviews and even work remotely.

Based on my past virtual team work experiences, it is always difficult to gel things together especially when there are 2 camps in two different timezone and geographic region. It’s not easy but the innovative energy is pretty high i you know how to turn it on. You truly get a multi-cultural perspective and gain new insights. The commitment has to be more or less equal on both end of the screens. It is definitely an experience!

I guess the future will be more exciting and also meant more opportunities for people to travel through time and space. Many times, i’m pretty keen on an event, conference or forum a few hundred miles away but the sheer distance makes it impossible to fly all that miles to attend an event (very polluting too!). With holographic technology, it is possible to attend the event and perhaps even interact with the other real live attendees. imagine that! it is still not advanced to the state whereby a robot can walk around the place modeled after you but i guess it is a step up from live vid streaming. The virtual workplace will be cool too though it might mean that people can be doing multi-jobs and not just multi-tasks at the same time. It presents an interactivity platform for customers and suppliers too.

The cost and limitations may inhibit the take-off of the holographic future but similar to the concept of traveling to moon, it may one day be available to many and even all.
